MARCUS
GRONHOLM and Timo Rautiainen have won the 2003 Rally Argentina!
The Peugeot
pair lost almost two minutes on the first leg after clipping
a rock but they managed to fight back to win the event by
26.6 seconds from Carlos Sainz and Marc Marti. Sainz inherited
the event lead after Gronholm's incident on the first day
but a timing error resulted in the Spaniard receiving a one
minute penalty. Despite his best efforts to regain the lead,
it wasn't enough but the runner-up spot takes him to third
position in the Drivers' Championship Standings.
Richard
Burns and Robert Reid finished third in their Peugeot 206
WRC after turbo problems on the final stage but they remain
Championship leaders with a total of 32 points, two points
ahead of team-mates Marcus Gronholm and Timo Rautiainen.
