FORD'S
DRIVERS for this season's championship are relative newcomers
to the World Rally Championship.
None more
so than Lebanon's Abdo Feghali who brought the second Astra
Racing Ford Puma back to Monte Carlo in 11th place. Feghali
made his JWRC debut on last season's Sanremo Rally but was
forced to retire early and so was naturally in high spirits
at not only finishing arguably the most difficult event for
the JWRC crews but also doing so in such a good overall position.
Co-driver
Joseph Matar spent most of the journey back to Monte Carlo
sending text messages of congratulations to the Astra Racing
team on his mobile phone.
Now
I understand the feeling of being able to say that I've finished
the Monte Carlo Rally, said Feghali. By the end
of the event I was setting some really good times and I'm
confident that we can go far this year. I really can't wait
until the next round."
Astra
Racing team manager Luca Pregliasco was extremely pleased
with the performances of his two drivers. He said: "I'm
happy with Abdo's drive in these very specialized conditions.
You must remember that there isn't a lot of snow in Lebanon!
Rally-net,
as last season, will continue to cover all of Feghali's outings
on the JWRC. The next round is Turkey which begins on 27 February
and Rally-net will be there live.
