GILLES
PANIZZI and Herve Panizzi have won their third consecutive
Rallye Sanremo!
Despite
recovering from a shoulder injury, the Panizzi pair took control
of the event during the first leg. Citroen's Philippe Bugalski
was hot on the heels of the Frenchmen but his charge was quickly
halted after an argument with a wall on the second leg.
This left
Panizzi's team-mate, Marcus Gronholm, as the only threat to
his third victory but the 2000 World Champion couldn't catch
the similar Peugeot and Panizzi won the event by 20.9 seconds.
